Hi arrived in Phuket via Air Asia (think - Far East Easy Jet) 30 minutes ahead of schedule - pretty impressive. A short drive brought us to the Dusit Thani Laguna. We are slumming it a bit here - no upgrade to executive lounge with free cocktails and canapes or free laundry service but we are sure we will cope. We couldn't wait to get out and explore and what we found more than made up for the lack of a free minibar! The beach which is about 100m from our room is amazing - once you get over the tiny transparent ghost crabs scuttling over your feet! We stumbled upon a shack on stilts and decided we needed refreshment - we decided to stay for dinner and watch the sun go down. Dad picked out his very own Tiger prawn - just one - it was enormous! Once dinner was over we strolled back along the beach and saw the Hermit crab scuttle across the sand - it obliged us with staying still for a few seconds while we took a snap! Apologies for the moth picture - well really, apologies for dad's toe being the only handy (footy) means of giving you a true impression of the size of the thing. Did some window shopping and made plans for tomorrow. We are going to Patong Beach after a morning at the pool side - and yes - there is a shallow end! Anyway that's us up to date - hope everyone is well and the ink is coming off the dogs!!!!
