Summer Palace on the Road to Ayutthaya
We went on a trip to see the ruins of the former capital city of Thailand - Ayutthaya. On the way we stopped off at the Summer Palace - what an amazing place! There are examples of Thai buildings, European and Chinese. The first building you see is after the European style, the second photo you see is after the Thai style! Men could not get into the building wearing shorts so to show respect to the King, they have to cover up. Dad opted for the Beckamesque sarong - nice! Anyway after a look round we got back on the bus and headed for Ayutthaya.
