We spent Sunday morning walking round the old town with no particular plan. First went into the Wat Pra Singh and it was pretty busy with worshippers. Photographs can never capture the size or atmosphere of the place. Then we found this old stupa surrounded by lots of temples, some old and some new. Found out later it is the Wat Chedi Luang where the emerald Buddha used to live before he was taken to Bangkok where we saw him in the temple at the Grand Palace. There are lots of monks wandering around and I thought some were going to pray to me when I had a seat next to this fat Buddha - separated at birth?
After this stenuous morning refreshments were badly needed.
Shirley is going for a facial later and I am booked in for a massage.
